Rethinking Dataro’s first touch

Dataro — Rethinking Dataro’s first touch

Dataro could tell a fundraiser which donors were likely to give, lapse, or upgrade. The harder question was what the fundraiser should do with that information and how the product could guide them there without adding more user training, support calls, or manual work.

We redesigned the experience so customers could see what Dataro had completed, what still required their input, and what would happen next. That work later became the starting point for a broader product redesign built around fundraising opportunities and recommended actions rather than a collection of predictions.

Impact

The redesign gave Dataro a clearer, more structured first experience for new customers. By reducing ambiguity around setup, progress, and system status, it helped shift onboarding away from a support-heavy process toward a more self-directed product experience. The work also established reusable patterns that informed the broader product and gave the team a stronger foundation for future onboarding improvements.
