Freeplay

Building better products on unpredictable models

Freeplay sessions dashboard for an AI assistant project

Freeplay gives teams building products with LLMs a more disciplined way to understand what their models are doing. Instead of managing prompts through code and piecing together model behavior after the fact, teams can test prompts and models, compare outputs, evaluate performance, and monitor production interactions in one place.

I led a redesign across Tests, Prompt Editor, Sessions, filtering, and Datasets to make that workflow easier to inspect and improve.

Role

Senior Product Designer

Deliverables

Design System, Research, Strategy, UI/UX

Platforms

Responsive Web

Freeplay evaluation of a Friday Funzies app prompt
Freeplay survey question used to evaluate model output
Freeplay mobile interface for reviewing model sessions
Freeplay prompt editor
Freeplay settings screen
Composition of Freeplay session artifacts across devices

Impact

The redesign strengthened Freeplay’s core development and observability workflows, giving teams a more consistent way to move from experimentation into production monitoring. We shipped better test comparisons, faster prompt iteration, deeper session evaluation, reusable filtered views, and more flexible dataset management—bringing more of the work required to evaluate LLM-powered products into a single system.
